Description:

We start this walk with a coach ride from Dursley Bus Station to Wickwar.

The route passes over Sturt Bridge (a pack horse bridge over the Little Avon), and then through the Lower Woods Nature Reserve (muddy at times).

We head north on traditional farmland on low lying ground to the hamlet of Wortley and then climb fairly gently through woods to the National Trust hunting lodge dating from the time of Henry VIII at Newark Park.

Beyond here, the going becomes a little more ‘interesting’ with some challenging climbs onto the Cotswold escarpment above Wotton-under-Edge and over to North Nibley. Down again to Waterley Bottom, up and over Stinchcombe Hill via Breakheart Quarry, to finish in Dursley.

We ask that you pay toward the cost of the coaches but this does not fully cover the cost, and the Festival relies on kind donations to ensure its future. After you have booked and paid, please consider making an additional donation.
