Cam to Coaley and back along the Lantern Way

A pleasant circular route taking in part of the Lantern Way.
We start by heading in the direction of Coaley, picking up the Lantern Way at Upthorpe. The terrain is gently undulating and good underfoot. We’ll pass through recently installed kissing gates which make access much easier for everyone.
At Coaley, we’ll stop for a drink and snack at the Coaley village shop, where we will say a big Thank You to the Bristol and West Long Distance Walkers for funding 8 new kissing gates on the Lantern Way route, and to the Cotswold Wardens who recently installed them. After this, we will continue along the Lantern Way from Coaley to the Ham on what is now a completely stile free section, before climbing the hill at Ham Farm to enjoy the views across to the River Severn before returning to Cam via Ashmead.
This walk has only one short steep ascent, but in places there are stiles which may present difficulty for some to climb over.

- This a family friendly walk. Accompanied children are welcome
